Understanding Ganglion Cysts

Ganglion cysts are benign, hard lumps of tissue that contain fluid and typically develop along the tendons of the ankle or foot. They can get bigger over time, but some do shrink and disappear spontaneously. Ganglion cysts that do not resolve on their own tend to cause significant discomfort and require treatment. Causes And Symptoms Ganglion cysts can occur when there's no apparent reason, but common causes of this type of cyst include trauma, overuse and joint stress, which can happen if you engage in high-impact exercise.

About Me

Worried about your achey feet?

For some reason, my feet have always been a problem area for me. Ingrown toenails, bunions, calluses--I've had the lot. I've visited a wide variety of podiatrists in my time, and I've picked up on some useful knowledge along the way: how to find a foot doctor who's right for you, how to sort some things out yourself at home, how to know when it's time to stop trying and go back to the clinic for an appointment with an expert. I've started this blog to share some of that knowledge, and I hope it helps you figure out how to deal with your own foot issues.
